FAQS
You've Questions, I've got answers!

What if I go into labor early?
I’m on-call 24/7 starting at 38 weeks. If labor kicks off earlier, text/call me as soon as contractions are consistent (or your provider says it’s the real thing) and I’ll head your way.
When do you arrive?
Typically in active labor—think the “5-1-1” guideline (contractions ~5 minutes apart, lasting ~1 minute, for ~1 hour) or whenever your provider recommends heading in. We’ll also consider your past birth speed and driving distance. For scheduled inductions, I coordinate with you once things are underway.
How long after delivery do you stay?
About 1–2 hours postpartum to capture first moments—skin-to-skin, weighing, footprints, first latch, and family hellos.
What if I need a c-section?
Operating room access is set by the hospital. Most allow one support person in the operating room, which usually means photographers aren’t permitted. But it depends on the hospital's policies. If I can’t be in the OR, I meet you in recovery and continue coverage right away; at some hospitals I can photograph baby after birth in the OR without showing the procedure or staff. For scheduled C-sections, we coordinate timing so I’m there pre-op and ready for recovery photos.

What happens if you miss the birth?
This hasn't happened yet but if it does, depending on the circumstances I will either refund you or offer you additional services post delivery depending on your preferences.

When do I get the photos
I work very fast because I know everyone is excited for the photos. My clients receive all their edited images in 2-5 days.
How do you handle a long labor?
Long labors are a common part of the birth photography world. In general unless I can help with something I sort of blend into the background anyway, so during a long labor I will come and go from the room intermittently checking on progress and snapping some photos while we wait.
